NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 9 — Police in Laikipia have recovered 120 bags of government-subsidized fertilizer suspected to be destined for re-sale.
Police said Sunday that the recovery operation was conducted by officers drawn from Sipili and Nga’arua Police Stations who were acting on a tip off from members of public.
The fertilizer was recovered from Blessed Agrovet in Sipili Township.
“One motor vehicle make Isuzu Dmax which was used for transportation was impounded and detained at Sipili Police Station, while the exhibits are kept at Nga’arua Police Station,” the National Police service said.
Two suspects identified as Francis Githiora, 41, and Sarah Murugi, 38, were arrested and detained at Sipili Police Station pending arraignment in court.
